You have to be pretty damn stupid to steal from a dead sheriff’s deputy, but that’s exactly what Brandy Holder is accused of.

WRGA reports:

Police say an Armuchee woman set up a Go Fund Me account for the daughters of a former Floyd County police officer and sheriff’s deputy who died in Afghanistan last year but kept thousands of dollars raised for herself.

According to a warrant at the Floyd County Jail, 41-year-old Brandy Michelle Holder of 3500 Floyd Springs Road withdrew $4,778.32 on September 15 of last year. The money was donated by 22 people. .

Information on the account indicated that proceeds would go toward a memorial duck hunt for the daughters of Barry Sutton.

Sutton was working as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan when he was killed by a suicide bomber late last year. Holder was arrested Thursday and as of Friday, being held on $5,700 bond.
