Alleged GoFundMe Fraud, Just Stupid

This Idiot Is Using Someone Else’s Vet Bills to Scam on GoFundMe

Blanket

This scam is brand new, we were alerted to the fake fundraiser by the admin of a Facebook group that exists solely to share GoFundMe pages.

A few days ago, cat owner Denny Roberto visited the ASPCA with his cat Lysha after noticing a strange cyst on her chest. Roberto put up a GoFundMe for help with her vet bills, and uploaded copies of the cost estimates to the Go Fund Me On Facebook Needs Angels For Help group, and asked for help for his beloved 12-year-old cat. As you can see, the estimates clearly say Lysha [ed. note: we have not verified this information but spoke to Denny and have no reason to believe he is fabricating his story]

And here’s the real Lysha:

Lysha

Earlier today, someone claiming to be Allen Hutto posted in the same exact group with a different fundraiser [WARNING: FRAUD DO NOT DONATE], this time for a cat named Blanket. One small problem, “Hutto” used Lysha’s estimates. Worse, he couldn’t even be arsed to remove her name.

“Hutto” writes:

“I am trying to raise money to help my injured cat, blanket. Our cat was missing for a week and then came back home on Easter with a horribly injured leg. We have no idea what could of caused this, but we assume he was attacked by a dog, other animal, or tortured because he is a white cat”

Mmkay so stolen vet estimate aside, we have a problem. A reverse image search reveals “Blanket” is actually this cat from New Zealand, who was injured in a trap back in 2013. Whoopsie.

When the Facebook group admin was alerted to “Hutto” using Lysha’s vet estimate by Lysha’s owner, the offender was removed and blocked from the group. It appears he has since removed his Facebook page.

Feel free to link them to this post which contains all necessary evidence. We will update if and when GoFundMe removes it.

Nice try, you twat!

Update: the fake fundraiser has been removed, most likely by Hutto himself (we may have brought this post to his attention). Not before Allen “The Doctor” Hutto spammed a ton of cat groups with it.
