GoFundMe Freezes Porn Star’s Rehab Funds Because Porn

Bree Olson GoFundMe

We have an update on Charlie Sheen’s ex Bree Olson (nee Rachel Oberlin), who turned to GoFundMe last week for $100k to head to rehab.

She’s up to over $22k but according to a recent Periscope, “a malicious group of people” have informed GoFundMe that her “private video” promised to donors of $100 is, in fact, going to be porn. “That’s not only absurd, it’s just not true,” she says in the stream.

“I want to thank everyone and apologize for anyone that has been upset for GoFundMe freezing the funds. I hope we were able to disprove to them that I am not doing porn or sending porn as a reward system as that was one of their concerns,” she writes in an update to her GoFundMe page. “If- for some reason- Gofundme takes back the money which would be… wow, talk about irony and why I’m in the position I’m in, in the first place… I can set this up somewhere else or you can send checks directly. That’s of course not my preferred method. I liked the idea of the Gofundme because it’s very transparent and I can do cool things like give everyone mass updates all at once and we can see the progress we’ve made etc.”

As for those alleged porn promises? At least one donor was happy to donate toward an “individual vid” update on her progress.

Yeah, that’s not totally creepy or anything.

As for her temporary beef with GoFundMe? Rachel is sure it’ll work itself out. “I know they will come through for us though, I feel it in my heart.” she writes. “We haven’t done anything wrong in anyway and I have went over the rule with a fine tooth comb and we are okay guys. The light will always outshine the darkness.”

GoFundMe technically forbids anyone to “establish or contribute to any Campaign with the implicit or express purpose relating to pornography or other sexual content” but nothing in her page says porn except the part about her having done porn. It could perhaps be argued that she’s using her notoriety from being in porn to push her campaign across social media but even that is a stretch.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this one, as its outcome could mean GoFundMe may need to update their terms to ban all porn stars from the site completely until the end of time.
